Sorry I haven't been on much lately, but it seems that an old injury has cought up to me, and is causing some problems. The MRI I had on the 14th reads as follows:

Impression:

Denervation atrophy and edema of the abductor digiti minimi and quadratus plantae muscle supplied by the lateral plantar nerve.

I suspect that increased edema of the flexor digitorum brevis is due to proximal tendon tear.

Extensive regional edema in the plantar foot compartment is believed to be due to the above abnormalities.

Compatable with tarsal sinus ganglion cyst arising from posterior subtalar joint.

The podiatrist had been treating me for plantar fasciitis ( they have the same symptoms), but as you can see, it was much more.

So, for my birthday, I wound up in an air cast and on crutches for a minimum of 2 to 3 months. He is not giving a good prognosis, and doesn't think surgery will help, but did say I was welcome to get a second oppinion. I am going to try to get a neurosurgeon to look at the MRI to see if he agrees. He is one of the best in our area, and I don't think he would do anything unless he thought he could help.

I never seem to catch a break lately. :sad0049:

Thanks everyone.

I sprained my ankle really bad when I was about 10 or 12, and he said that it could have started that long ago with that injury. Whatever the cause, it has been brewing for some time. I just hope I can find someone that thinks they can maybe help.

Thanks for all the hugs and prayers... I can use them right now.

Yeah, who would have guessed. I just thought that it made me more prone to other sprains... I never dreamed it could cause all these problems.

My sister, BIL, and niece are in this weekend, so if you don't see me on much that is why.... Just visiting.

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend.

:hugs:
