I'm new to the board, but not hypothyroidism. Been on levothyroxine for over a year. My level at 88 mcg 8 months ago was .67. This past week, it was 4.55. My NP increased to 100 mcg. I've been experiencing heart palps, muscle weakness, extreme fatigue. Is this all common? Do I need to have more in depth bloodwork to determine if something else is going on? I do have a tachycardia and have heart palps/anxiety issues as well. I keep seeing TSH and free cell numbers....are these different from what my NP gave me? I don't have a hard copy of my actual results. I am tired of this! I want to feel good! Tell me what I need to tell my NP to order as far as bloodwork......and should I go to an endo? I like my NP and feel she is knowledgeable about most things.....

Appreciate any/all input.

Hi,

Sounds like you are over medicated. But its hard to really say without knowing your levels with Lab ranges.

You should take more interest with your health and what is going on with it. Getting copies of your Labs and getting to know what they mean and how you feel at each level and med. dose is a great way to start.

If its not your thyroid then you would need more test to find out what is causing your issues. But right now you need your thyroid levels with Lab ranges.

Your NP should know what test you need for I am assuming s/he knows you and your health best.

If you post your TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 , all three are needed, with Lab ranges, we can help direct your more positively.

You will also learn a lot here.

Hi, Julie!! What is the name of the thyroxine replacement you are on? Also, you may benefit from a ferritin test. Some of the symptoms you are describing could be from low ferritin and low ferritin also interferres w/the efficacy of thyroxine replacement.

Welcome to the board.

Serum ferritin is a test for total body iron storage and is my favorite and the best test to measure iron status. Low serum ferritin ALWAYS identifies iron deficiency.

You may wish to read this article on iron and ferritin...........
