My skin has always been extremely dry and flake. It got a little better after I found out I had an underactive thyroid and I was put on medication. However, it's still not totally normal. Does anyone have any tips to help with dry skin? Are there any good facial cleansers that work for people with underactive thyroid?

Since I have been hypo, my skin has been very dry and itchy. I have tried jusst about every type of lotion I could find, but with no good results. My first visit to my endo she suggested I try Aquaphor. I use twice a day and so far have seen pretty good results from this one.
Good luck and I hope you can find one that will help you.

It is a good idea to start from within by using olive oil in and on your food and taking Omega III as well as Omega VI.
I love the Queen Helene. A huge bottle and cheap too. I have tried everything over the years and I personally get best results w/ the Queen Helene. Available in most drugstores, Walmart and supermarkets.

Hypoallergenic soaps and lotions, but keep in mind what is hypoallergenic to one may not be to another. Avoid hot water, use as cool water as you possible can tolerate in winter. Heat is not good, as well as wind and sun.

I bought a bottle of vitamin E oil to help heal my scar and found that it makes the skin my my face nice and soft and moist! Doesn't give me zits or make my face burn like most moisturizers do...

I'm 20 now, I've I've been using proactive since I was 14. It really dries out my skin. I've stopped, but my skin is still a bit dry. Any suggestions of a good product that hydrates/treats mild acne?

I too found that when hypo my skin got very dry. I tend to scratch till I break the skin. I found that "Bliss" lotions work great. Non greasy and smells great. I also try to increase my water consumption. I know it sounds strange but it works. Also putting lotion on right afte you get out of the shower does wonders to.
Good luck with things.
