Wow, I cannot believe it has been six weeks since my surgery! I had a wonderful recovery. At two weeks out my doctor said I could run and so I began training for a 1/2 marathon that will take place in Feb. I have never run a race before, I just had to have some sort of goal to get me past my thyroid worries. I am still only taking .125 of synthroid but I am sure he is going to have to up it. My hair has thinned out on the left side just a little, but nothing that I cannot deal with. My weight will not budge even though I am up to running 3.5 miles at least 3 days a week. I can tell this is going to be a fight! HOWEVER, just for those who are seeking information on having the thyroid removed...it was the best thing that I ever did....Believe me I was scared and it took years before I finally did it. I had so many problems before and ended up in the ER. There were nights that I thought I might die due to the heart acting weird. I had it (thyroid) removed and have no more PVCs or anything else. I feel perfect in that respect...NORMAL. My fight with weight is my only issue....I can deal with that considering how bad I felt...I am still drinking herbalife once a day and then eating other things for meal...good luck:)
