Alrighty, here is my story--fairly quickly.

25 yrs old, female. I feel like I am going to die. I have always felt sick and was diagnosed at age 12 with CFS. About a year and ahlaf ago age 23, one night I got really really restless. It fel tlike adrenalin was running through my body. I would get rapid heartbeat, I felt awful, depressed, and this retsless feeling like my body was buzzing it was so weird. It lasted months and months. My doctor told me I was anxious and depressed. I insisted on testing. My cortisol came back high, so I thought that was the reason. I was tested for cushings, but came back negative. ( dex test ). Throught the last year and ahlaf my symptoms have been up and down. Sometimes I feel on the high side--restless, etc. Sometimes ont he low side- really tired, sick, malaise. The past 3 weeks I haven't been able to eat due to severe indigestion ( I think it's gastritis ) and I feel like I am going to die. I really feel sick, I can't keep my head up long, I feel foggy, like I have poison running through my body, an over all smell and sense of sickness if that makes sense. The only thing getting me through is anti nauseant bonamine. In this recent 2 week body crisis I decided to call my doctors office to find out what my thyroid levels were a year ago ( when testing for cushings, my doc said my thyroid was normal, but he thinks everything is stress so i thought I would get actual numbers ) My TSH is 4.97 normal is 0.3-5 ( although after reading stuff apparently anything over 2 or 3 is considered abnormal and high? My t4 free is 14 normal is 10-20, and my t3 is 6.2 normal 2.6-5.7 Why is my tsh and t3 high. Is it hashimotos...I haven't been tested since and my doctor refuses to help me saying I am a hypercondriach and just anxious which is just not true! I am in canada, and need referalls to see specialist. i am trying to get to a walk in clinic today but I feel so so sick I can't think about moving. What is anyones thoughts on this. thank you,
Olive

Your problem sounds a lot like mine. If it were me, I would go in and INSIST on a TSI test.

Like you, my thyroid levels are "normal" most of the time. I have had bouts of the "buzzing" that you mention. for me, it makes my legs really weak and seems to radiate from my belly button area, up and down my belly and up and down my legs making my legs really weak with an overall trembling feeling.

I have learned that I have Graves' and a wicked case of Hashi's. Hashi's/Graves' combo will certainly do that to you, particularly in times of stress. when those antibodies start flaring, I know it right away and feel like crap.

Go get properly tested all at one time:

TSH, Free T3, Free T4, TPO Ab, TG Ab, TSI and it probably would not be bad to test your adrenals as well with a 24 hour catecholamine test.

This barrage will certainly rulle out or rulle in all sorts of things.

Hyper vigilence and over thinking the problem will absolutely add to it. For me, the best I've felt was to put it out of my mind for a while.

There's really only a few major things that usually make you feel like that:

1. You have an adrenaline tumor which is rare.
2. Your thyroid is messed up and the docs have not uncovered the real problem yet.
3. You have a problem with your pituitary that controls the Thyroid
4. You have some type of common problem with your heart like mitral valve prolapse.
5. You have an axiety disorder where help and maybe some Xanax can help.
6. You have some sort of problem with cortisol which you were already checked for.
7. Testosterone/Estrogen imbalances can make you feel like crap too.
8. Calcium / Magnesium / Parathyroid problem - simple calcium test will rule this out - you've probably already had one - part of routine blood work most of the time.

Im just trying to throw some stuff out there for you. You need to be more assertive with your doctors. Demand the tests you need or find someone else.
