Hello, I'm new to this board although some years ago I joined a support forum called "Thyroiditis" which really helped me a lot. I disovered I was positive to Hashimoto's around six years ago. I was treated with Eutirox, I think this is the european or italian name, I'm a foreigner. Anyway, while my antibodies never lowered down, my tsh, t3 and t4 went back to the normal range and after three years my doctor suggested me to stop taking the medicine and see. I had blood tests every three months and the values of my tsh was always normal so after one year I relaxed. I kept on checking my thyroid every six months anyway and after a while my tsh started raising again but remained always in the normal range. Now I just had a blood test and discovered that tsh has gone high again ( 4, 94 while according to the paramether of the lab shouldn't go above 4, 20) and my doctor told me I have to go back to eutirox. I'm not very happy because the eutirox didn't make me feel too well in the old days. Meantime, I have gone into menopause and I'm already fighting against night sweats and all the rest. I would like to ask you, since time have passed, if any of you havee experienced some treatment which really helped without important side effects. My ft3 and ft4 are normal and the funny thing is that in the past months I have lost and not gained weight in spite of my obvious hypothyroidism. Does it make any sense? Any of you can help? I have just had an ecography done to my thyroid and there are no nodules and its size is normal. Thank you guys, and I apologize for my bad english:confused:
