Geez...I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but for pete's sake...WE ARE ALL WELL AWARE OF BREAST CANCER!!! Seriously, we all know someone who currently has it, has survived it, or didn't survive it. Most of us get a mammorgram periodically to see if we have it. We all hope we never get it. And of course we would love it if the scientists found a cure for it.

BUT ENOUGH WITH THE PINK ALREADY!!!! Ugh. Pink bats in Major League Baseball...pink shoes, towels, gloves in NFL games...pink kitchen appliances...pink grocery bags...pink rubber bracelets (I'm sick of those rubber bracelets, too, but that's for another thread)...pink watches...pink curling irons...pink cereal boxes...pink yogurt containers...I've had enough! They've ruined what used to be a decent color. Even if I did have breast cancer, do I want to be reminded of it everywhere I go?

I'm going to shut up now, but thanks for listening. And I sure hope I didn't offend you. :)

It's the Pink Part I don't like! Makes me think of that Sheriff in Texas with his prisoners in pink shorts etc.. Not a pink person! LOL!!

Thyroid Awareness certainly does not get that kind of attention, I have observed.

Wait a minute....there's a Thyroid Awareness day??? :)

You're right about the pink part...every time I see the color pink, I think of breast cancer. I guess that's a nod to their marketing success!

Yes, and September was Thyroid Cancer Awareness month. Still doesn't get the recognition it should considering it is almost rampant here. I hope this link works, never sure about these!

Fascinating! You should post this in its own thread! I bet some of our members/posters might be interested. :)

(I am one of the three people on the planet who is not on Facebook...weird, I know!)

I was the last convert in our house. It helps me stay in touch with my kids in an easy way.

I'm guessing it also makes you "cool enough" for your kids to want to stay in touch with you! :) I always feel so totally "uncool" when I tell people I'm not on Facebook. :(

My Aunt has ovarian cancer and while a few hundred folks showed up for that 5k the Race for the cure had fifteen thousand participate in my city....

My hubby says because breast cancer has all these catchy slogans people pay more attention to it.

It kind of annoys me, but I am sure my admitting this make me a bad person in some way.

A co workers wife just did treatment for thyroid cancer, I am amazed at how some people at work don't treat it as a serious cancer......

I know what you mean. I have the same "fear."

And webster2, I think your husband is right on.
