Hi everyone,
I had my thyroid checkd about 6 weeks ago.
The results were
TSH 1.069 0.450-4.5
FreeT4 1.51 0.61-1.76
FreeT3 3.3 2.3-4.2
As you can see, they are normal. But I feel SO HYPER!!!!
My symptoms are
racing pulse 80-100
loss of weight
joint pain
muscle weakness
twitch in eye
uncontrollable tremor in my leg, always bouncing it up and down when sitting
anxiety, restlessness, irritability
feel hot, but with really cold hands and feet (temp is normal)
trouble breathing, like something pressing up on lungs
I did not have any antibodies testing done, but with other normal labs like I have, could that account for my symptoms?? (just having antibodies??)
I did not see a doctor, I ordered the tests online, and had them drawn at a lab, I did not have insurance at the time, but I do now, can't get in to see a family doc for 3 weeks.
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts.
Thanks

Are you a long lost cousin or something? :)
I have the same deal - nearly identical and have been dealing with it for 8 years now except my labs are on the hypo side now. Im supposed to take Synthroid cause Im "certainly hypo" yet my biggest complaint is the tremors, muscle weakness, racing pulse, and overall jumpy feeling. I hate the feeling of being nervous all the time. It wears you down quick. I always felt like I had Graves' disease despite my hypo numbers. I swear its the TSI acting up.
Have you had a TSI test?

no, but I have read up on it, and there's a belief that it doesn't matter what the abtibodies are, if your labs are normal, then that's it....your problem isn't thyroid. I hope someone here has some insight into that theory.
I am so tired of feeling so bad all the time, I feel like I don't want to leave my house anymore, becauase of the anxiety, I should add that I am really phobic of all this medical stuff, but I am at the point where I have to go. I wanted to go to this certain doctor ( I researched that online too!!), but she is booked for 3 weeks, I don't know if I can wait that long. Some times I am wanting to go to the ER, but I really don't want to do that. I am just really scared at the way I am feeling, and of course, the more stuff you look up on line, the more ailments you think you have.

Hi, Ritamay and welcome to the board. Yes; the usual thyroid panel such as the one posted can and does come in in normal range while meanwhile the antibodies are wreaking havoc. There also appears to be a lag time on the roller coaster ride between hypo and hyper as far as the labs are concerned.
So, I realize you are self-pay (hubby and I were all our lives) but when you can, the following labs would be good.
I will only suggest the 2 that "I" think most important.
TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) which if present in any amount even if below range is the reason for hyperthyroid.
TPO (antimicrosomal antibodies) if present is suggestive of autoimmune disease and in all probability, it may be thyroid disease. If you have TPO, that would suggest further testing such as TSI.
And, you could also have many of these same symptoms from low ferritin. Ferritin is protein which stores your iron for cellular uptake. Ideally, ferritin should be 50 to 100, preferably closer to 100.
In actuality, you may have both thyroid disease and low ferritin. Many of us do.
Here is a nice place you can look up all the labs I mentioned...............

thanks for the response....
so, just to be clear, if I have antibodies, they could be causing all this craziness??? even with my other normal labs??
I am going to look up info on ferriten too. thanks!!

Yes, indeed. They can be running amok and meanwhile the thyroid panel does not reflect that at all. There seems to be a lag time. One reason is there are binding, blocking and stimulating antibodies and autoantibodies. So the message being sent is very very confusing to the thyroid and your body also.
One cancels the other out. If you Google binding, blocking, stimulating antibodies ; you will find out more than you will ever care to know.
So, anyway.............this confuses the thyroid and the pituitary gland no end.
