Don't tell me they're not out there! :confused0068:I'll bet if we put our heads together we could write and produce a new medical series.
I've had several healthcare horror misadventures, not the least of which was going to a new internist one time (after my previous doctor retired) who ordered my yearly mammogram. Cancer runs rampant in my family, I haven't missed a mammogram in probably 40 years! I take mammograms dead seriously!
A few days after the mammogram I received a phone call from this doctor's Physician's Assistant saying I had a serious problem - I had large, suspicious lumps in both breasts AND would have to undergo a much more involved mammogram.
The earliest appointment I could get at the imaging center was 2 1/2 weeks later. I worried until I was almost sick for 2 1/2 weeks! I don't think I've ever been so worried in my life.
When I finally got to the imaging center, the radiologist was looking at my previous xrays on a light board and she asked me exactly why was I there? I said I'd been told I had large suspicious lumps in both breasts.
May lightning strike me dead if I'm lying - the lumps were shadows!
The radiologist was furious with the P.A. and said she should have NEVER scared me like that. Needless to say, I never saw the P.A. nor that internist again! I would have complained to the doctor...but the radiologist beat me to it!
