I think I've been "grieving forward" to a great degree. For the first time in my life I find I can't do everything I want to do. I've always enjoyed working hard, staying busy, honestly didn't know how to relax...and now age and thyroid-related concerns make me tired too much. Feeling tired has been depressing me bigtime.
Sometimes I seem to have energy - sometimes not so much. I am dead tired right now but I've still got to go to choir practice for an hour and a half. If I closed my eyes right now, I'd fall asleep. I've done a lot today, sewing, picking up pecans for 2 hours, some housework but I remember when I could do all that before lunch so I could head outside to mow, wash my car, garden, etc.
I've been doing two things - every morning I ask God to help me with my burden of fatigue AND I tell myself to be strong and keep going.
I'm already too old to die young but I think I've thought more about my own mortality recently than any other time in my life. The days seem shorter now, I get up planning to accomplish maybe 10 things and I do good if I manage to finish 4...so I keep getting more behind every day.
