More this year than ever before I've found myself reminiscing about what Christmas used to mean to me and how different things are now. So many of my family members are gone now, so many activities we used to do together are memories the youngest members of my family will never know...but we make new memories.

2011 has been the hardest year of my life as far as my personal health goes. It's been a year of highs and lows, of hopes and expectations that fell through...but I know I have to keep hoping and expecting things to get better. Right now I'm still overwhelmed but maybe I've made more progress than I realize.

In many respects, many here have been closer to me than my own family as I've traveled through an often scary journey through trying to manage thyroid disease and I want you all to know how much I appreciate your help and encouragement. I've been so down recently that I feel like my mood is toxic to others.

I sincerely do hope and pray that we all have a happier, healthier 2012 and this time next year the hard times will be a distant memory.
