I had my labs done on Dec. 9 and I had thought she did the ft3 and she didn't. She said that when the ft4 is good she hasn't found she needs to do the 3. My numbers where .7 for tsh and 1.77 for ft4. I'm having them done again in a couple of weeks and am going to ask her to do the ft3. My insurance pays for all of it.

I have been more tired than normal the last 4-5 months, gaining a little weight(not over weight) but the way I exercise and eat soo clean I should have lost weight. I am slowly taking myself off of Zolt(it was a low dose). I read that even though it's one of the meds that doesn't cause weight gain in some there is. I also read the any med like that will cause the metabolism to slow, so I'll see what happens.

The FT3 needs to be run and I know you know this. How else could we know if you are converting or not. FT3 should be mid-range or a bit higher.

Let us know.

In the future, the ranges would be a big help as different labs do use different ranges. All the more to make things more difficult to interpret. Wah!

Aside from tired, any other symptoms?

The unexplained weight gain too. This happened about 12 years ago. That's when I found out I had Hypo.. Maybe it could be menopause to, just thinking. I am will have her run my ft3 also.

Well, do let us know and by the way, have you had antibodies' tests run?

Here are the recommended lab tests for thyroid antibodies...................; plus some other stuff........

TSH, FREE T3, FREE T4, TPO (antimicrosomal antibodies), ANA (antinuclear antibodies), TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) and Thyroglobulin Ab.

You can look all of the above up here so you know what they are for........

Thyroid disease is almost always autoimmune in nature. Therefore the prudent doctor would run antibodies tests to sort it out.

Please read this; it will be worth your while........
