Hi all,

Very new - only diagnosed yesterday hyperthyroid. Feeling rubbish and all I've seen so far are horror stories :(

My question - what's the highest FT4 you've seen/had?? My first round of blood tests are mine is 79.2  TSH <0.01.

Thanks!

I work in a flight crew. I'm hypo and the chief pilot is hyper. We make a great team :)

He takes tapazol to keep Graves disease in check. I believe he has figured out how to manage the drug by feel and symptoms (such as heart rate), so that he does not crash his thyroid levels or gain too much weight. Both of us have been dealing with thyroid problems for decades now. He was much more successful than I was at managing his disease and has maintained an ideal weight.

I have found that "conventional" replacement hormones don't work for me and I suffered horribly for 25 years. By the way, the instant my thyroid failed (due to Epstein Barr virus) I went from 180 pounds and very athletic to 230 pounds, with constant bouts of low blood sugar.

Only since Feb of 2022 have I done well enough to be considered "alive".
