Tests for overactive thyroid

My T3 and T4 was high, TSH low. I'm showing quite a lot of symptoms. The Dr said I have to wait till Feb to do another blood test and then possibly be referred to a specialist. I'm wondering if this is the normal process? I feel like things should move quicker?
