Hi all,

I have my thyroid ablasion scheduled 2 weeks from now. I have been doing Noom to lose weight and my doctor is using my weight as a marker of medication success, that is to say I'm eating 1100-1200 calories a day and should be losing weight but she is counter medicating me so I don't. After the ablasion I assume she's going to do the same thing. I'm considering whether I should up my calorie intake to a maintenance weight level while she adjusts the synthroid and then reduce my calories again once it's set. Does anyone here have any words of wisdom? If this is a good idea, what calorie level should I shoot for?

Most important in all of this is where your FT-4 and FT-3 levels should be post TT. Are you having surgical removal or RAI? If you have any eye involvement at all you should avoid RAI.

Whats worked for me - post TT having my FT-4 and FT-3 minimum 1/2 of range up to 3/4 range. The higher both are to 3/4 range the easier to lose weight.
