Who is taking Armour and How Is It

I started with Armour in 2002 and was doing very very good and then it changed, went
thru new owners and lots of changes and prices went way high.

I've been taking NT and now it's off the market, and am on NP but don't feel it's good
for me. I want to go back on Armour and getting prices and doctor is writing a new
script for it.

Is anyone taking it NOW and what are your thoughts? Thanks.

I would like to know too. I have been on Synthroid but the side effects are difficult. My doctor gave me a prescription for Armour but I haven't been brave enough to switch (yet).
Newly diagnosed: Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism about six weeks ago. Thank you

What are your synthroid side effects? When I was trying to get help for 10 yrs, 1991 to 2002, a doc had put me
on Synthroid and I was falling over with fatigue. Maybe if I had worked with it it would have gotten better, but I do have a BLOCK against synthroid regardless....

My challenge is it makes my legs ache and gives me stomach/digestion issues, also one of my breasts is larger. Similar to when I went through puberty (many many years ago). I have an appointment with my gynecologist but my mammogram was fine and the swelling started about five days after I started the Synthroid. Odd, I know but that is my personal experience.
I've only been on it a few weeks but I think (hope) there is something that would be more agreeable to my body.

Thanks for the info, I have a 100 tab bottle waiting for me at CVS of the Armour and the best they can sell
it to me is $106 for the 100 tabs.....this is with the discounts I have in their system....but I just can't decide if trying
it again is what I need to do....sticking with the daily low dose iodine may be what I need,,

Hi,
My side effects are from Synthroid. Sorry, if I wasn't clear on that.
I have not tried Armour. I was able to have my doctor order just 15 pills of Armour and I have the prescription. I have not been brave? enough to try them. I explained to my doctor that right now while we are switching and 'testing' medications I have to pay out of pocket and requested just the fifteen pills. She understood and agreed, that's how I got such a small amount for a small out of pocket cost. My hesitation with Armour is what I have read online. That the batches can vary from one prescription to another. Also, that if someone has a low Ferritin level (part of the iron/anemia testing) that Armour can make anxiety worse. My ferritin level back in April was 'low normal' so I have hesitated against trying the Armour.
Thank you,

I would not hesitate as you have only 15 and what do you have to lose? Are they 50mg which is 1 grain?

My friend suggested I ask the pharm where the 100 tabs are waiting for me, to split the order to a 1/3 of the
script due to the costs. I'll work on t hat today...thjis was 30 tabs or so would cost meso me $30 ....I don't feel
that horrible since keeping my Iosol iodine daily intake of 1 drop or. so. j

My friend works with kelp and she feels good taking some, she only takes 15 and some days 30mg Armour.

She has a heart issue and is very aware of what she does as to not mess the heart.
Also you don't mention the dosage of Armour you got, 60 mr or 30 mg and you can even "bite" off a piece of the
tablet and start there if you have fear. I had some fear 20 yrs ago when I first started this journey and now have no
fear, if one gets Hyper then they are taking too much thyroid med. I had that experience way back and just
backed off the dosage at the time....one has to "learn" what does they can handle...biting off a piece is very OK....

A fella who was working with his thyroid back then would bite off little pieces to fit the need.
