Hello there :)

I had my full thyroid removed (papillary cancer) in June 2013. Prior to that, my weight was very consistent... for 20 years! I had babies and pretty much went back to my usual weight. However, I have gained weight since my surgery 2 1/2 years ago. I am at my "pregnancy weight". :(

My bloodwork during this time has usually been normal, even though I figured I must be hypo since I was gaining the weight (more recently I went hyper and then hypo, but usually its been fine)..

I take 100 mcg Synthroid (well, generic but always same manufacturer). If my bloodwork is good, I assume it's nothing to do with my surgery, right? Nothing else has changed, aside from me getting older (so just age/metabolism??) I don't really eat more than I used to, and it's not like I used to exercise and stopped because I didn't before either (but yes I should start).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated :)

Can you tell us what exactly your bloodwork was like? With the reference ranges, please?

Mid life changes could be happening which could add weight even without thyroid problems. Mother Nature can be such a witch. Do you have recent lab results, with ranges, to share?

I don't have a recent one. I just had blood taken last week and can ask for a copy of the results when I hear from the dr though.

I'm guessing your bloodwork is not optimal for you, despite being "in range." Would be helpful to see your exact results and ranges.
